Our 2- & 3-year old class offers the first opportunity for a child to come to school without a parent! The teachers, experienced, nurturing and patient, understand how important it is to build trust and inspire communication especially with those children who are not as verbal yet. Explorations include block play, sensory opportunities, art, music and movement and imaginative play with open-ended (loose parts) materials. Outside, we visit the animals, climb, bike ride, and explore cooking in our mud kitchens. In keeping with the Reggio Emilia philosophy, we follow the child's lead, where their curiosity takes them, and that's how we design our learning opportunities for the next school day. The goal is always to model joy, kindness, empathy and independence.
